About us

Spreading originality, colours and good emotions in the daily life.

In 2003, in New York, Gaetano Pesce and Andrea Corsi (entrepreneur and artisan based in Milan) started to collaborate. The aim was to launch Fish Design in the international market, giving full visibility to this visionary and unique project on the design scene.

In 2004, in conjunction with the Salone del Mobile, the project was officially launched at the lab in Via Malpighi, in Milan, where Andrea Corsi worked, and the Fish Design collection passed, literally, to his hands, as exclusive guardian of the project. Since then, all the Fish Design pieces have been made in Italy, in Andrea Corsi’s lab.

In 2005, the project was presented at the international fair Maison&Objet in Paris and at the Moss Gallery in Soho, New York, giving further visibility to the collection.

On the occasion of the launch Gaetano Pesce said:

“From its beginning, in the mid-90s, Fish Design purpose has been to discuss singularity as the evolution from the standard, celebrating the flaws of humanity, its beauty, its joy, texture, sensuality, appeal, elasticity, colour, femininity, innovation.

The company has been operating since 1995 in New York, and it is now producing in Milan, Italy, the country that gave birth to its essence.

[...]

Fish Design is not satisfied with uniformity, with the superficiality of traditional design objects, their fatigue, abstraction and globalism.

In this time in history which becomes more complex each day, Fish Design’s goal is to offer more warmth, good humour and more affection for the spaces that host our lives contributing to their health.”

The purpose to evolve from the standard, celebrating the humanity of the divergent is part of Corsi Design’s dna.

From 2010, Corsi Design started new collaborations with internationally renowned designers: Enzo Mari, Paola Navone, Fernando and Humberto Campana, Alessandro Mendini.

Each collection was born from the desire to narrate new ways of interpreting the use of the resin: from the rigorous approach of Lezioni by Enzo Mari, to the cosmopolitan spirit of One More and One Off by Paola Navone; from the ‘wild’ attitude of NativoCampana by Fernando & Humberto Campana, to the dreamy expression of Mendinismi by Alessandro Mendini.

The hand of the craftsman who made it can be seen in every piece Corsi Design produces. No object is the same, they are all unique. Just as each person is unique.

Andrea Corsi

I’m not a designer, I’m an artisan, but Enzo Mari, the maestro, once said to me: “artisans are their own designers”.

I travelled around the world my entire life and I learnt many languages. I worked for 5 years as Export Manager for Cassina, the number one design company in the world. In 1999 I bought the Alias company which I sold in 2002. In 2003 I met Gaetano Pesce, the person who changed my life completely.

Working closely with him opened my eyes and my mind to the art and craft world. Watching him playing with the resin, made me wish to be part of that world.

I discovered the secrets and the tools to be able to work with it, I challenged myself experimenting, I made many mistakes but I am still here trying to create beautiful objects, never seen before, working with international designers and professionals (Alessandro Mendini, 2007 | Fr.lli Campana, 2009 | Enzo Mari, 2011 | Paola Navone, 2019) who share the same vision and passion.
